Coach Deubel named 2017 Athletic Director

Coach Deubel was named the 2017 Athletic Director of the Year for MAAC Division II and III. This award is voted on by area Athletic Directors.

In the 2016-17 school year, Coach Deubel coached the girls volleyball, girls basketball A and girls basketball B to state championships, and sent three players to the MAAC All-Star Team. Coach Deubel has grown a respected program at Atlanta Academy and is constantly adding to the sports offerings.

“It is an honor to be recognized by my peers,” said Coach Deubel. “I strive to ensure that all of our athletes have a positive experience on the court and take away a new set of skills for life.”

In addition to working with the athletes, Coach Deubel integrates Gladiator parents into the program by offering coaching and volunteer opportunities. The success of the program comes from the Atlanta Academy community as a whole.

“Coach Deubel is the definition of a team player, as he holds many hats at Atlanta Academy,” said Craig Drilling, Metro Atlanta Athletic Conference D2/D3 Commissioner. “The passion that he has shown for the kids at Atlanta Academy is evident.”
