Bridge Program

Smaller Classes.
Greater Focus.

Mission

The motto of The Atlanta Academy is the driving force behind the Bridge Program. This program provides remedial support to students of average to above average intelligence with learning differences in first grade through middle school. The goal is to provide an environment that supports students academically and emotionally.

Piloted in 2014-2015, the Bridge Program, as a whole, has more than tripled in size in just one year. Our Bridge students thrive with expert instruction provided by specialized teachers whose goal is to meet each student’s needs. This is why every Bridge classroom has a maximum of 8 students. The highlight of our program is that the curriculum is consistent with that which is taught at each grade level. This ensures a smooth transition to the mainstream classroom, which is our ultimate goal.

1st Through 5th Grade:

  • Students will be self-contained for Reading/Language Arts and Singapore Math. They will be with their mainstreamed grade level for Science, Social Studies, and Enrichment classes.
  • Social Skills classes included.
  • Homework help is provided throughout the school day.

Middle School:

  • Middle school students are given the opportunity to attend mainstream classes along with their Bridge teacher who is there to provide support.
  • Students receive individualized attention when needed.
  • Social Skills classes are included.
  • Homework help is provided throughout the school day.
